CV Template · Risk Manager
A Risk Manager CV needs to show how you identify exposure, translate risk into business decisions, and keep organisations aligned with regulatory expectations. The strongest CVs connect frameworks, controls, incident trends, and board-level reporting to measurable reductions in loss or uncertainty.
Hiring managers look for evidence that you can run a structured risk function, not just write policies. Your CV should reference the frameworks and tools you use, such as ISO 31000, COSO ERM, Basel requirements, SOX controls, GRC platforms, Power BI dashboards, risk registers, KRIs, and control testing schedules. Include the types of risk you manage, such as operational, financial, third-party, cyber, credit, compliance, or enterprise risk. Employers also want to see deliverables: risk appetite statements, board reports, internal audit responses, incident root-cause analysis, vendor assessments, and remediation tracking.
Build the CV around risk-related work you have already handled, such as internal controls, compliance monitoring, audit coordination, incident reviews, supplier due diligence, or process governance. Use examples from finance, operations, project management, quality, or compliance roles where you assessed exposure and recommended controls. Add relevant training such as ISO 31000, COSO ERM, CRISC, PRM, FRM, or risk management certificates if applicable.
Include certifications that match your risk domain, such as FRM, PRM, CRISC, CISA, CISM, CIA, CPA, CFA, ISO 31000, or COSO ERM training. For financial services roles, Basel, credit risk, liquidity risk, and model risk credentials can be valuable. For operational or technology risk roles, GRC, cyber risk, business continuity, and audit certifications are often more relevant.
Be specific about the reporting cadence, audience, and content. Mention whether you produced board packs, audit committee updates, risk appetite dashboards, KRI reports, loss event summaries, control testing results, or regulatory submissions. If you used Power BI, Tableau, Excel models, Archer, ServiceNow GRC, or MetricStream, include those tools alongside the reports.
